Account & Data Deletion

Applies to the EDMS mobile app (pk.edms.app) and the EDMS web portal. Last updated: 16 September 2026.

How to request deletion

You can use either route:

Ask your school administrator. This is the fastest option. Your school can delete a staff or parent login immediately from its own EDMS dashboard.
Email us at info@edms.pk with the subject “Account deletion request”, telling us your full name, the school you belong to, and the email or username on the account. We will verify the request with your school and confirm when it is done.

We respond within 7 days and complete verified deletions within 30 days.

What gets deleted

Your login account — name, email, username, phone and password credential.
Your sign-in sessions, on every device, immediately.
Your push-notification device tokens, so no further notifications can reach your phone.

Signing out of the app, or uninstalling it, clears the session and stored token from your device straight away — you do not need to wait for a request to be processed for that part.

What is kept, and why

EDMS is operated on behalf of schools. Your school is the owner of the records in its account, and some of them must survive a login being deleted:

School records — a student’s attendance, fee receipts and exam results belong to the school and are kept under its retention rules and legal obligations. Deleting a parent’s login does not erase their child’s academic record. Ask the school directly about those records.
Financial records — fee payments and receipts are kept as long as accounting and tax law requires.
Audit entries — a record that an action happened (who changed a mark, and when) is kept for the integrity of the school’s books. The actor’s name is a stored snapshot, not a link to a live account.

Deleting a whole school account

If your school is closing its EDMS account, an authorised representative should email info@edms.pk. We remove the entire school’s data, including every user and all uploaded files. A downloadable backup can be provided first on request.
